Bet you could have fun up on Beacon Rock with all the plants on the rock, or along the highway and on trees in that area. There are some nice ferns there. You are probably not far from Olympic National Park or Mt. Rainier either.
Thanks D&K - you reminded me that I haven't been to Watershed for a while, so I'll probably have some shots from there soon.
MD - thanks to you also. I haven't been to Beacon Rock, at least not recently. But it's on my list, along with some other sites in/near the Columbia. Thanks for your comment, and watch for those once I've done that little road trip.
I've been taking photos since well before I constructed my first oatmeal-box pinhole camera back in grade school. And for some years I've done commercial real estate photography.
Now the digital era has found me engaged in a torrid affair with light and shadow, pattern and color and depth. When I walk with friends, I stop at odd times, seeing things that aren't visible to others. I have conversations with the ordinary and thereby discover the extraordinary.
I'm now framing and selling some of my images -- visit RedBubble or Cafepress, or contact me if you see an image you'd like to have for your very own.

I like this especially against the dark background. There are a couple of nice examples of this in Watershed Park also. You've probably seen them.
Nice one.
